Hospital escapes doctor exodus minister, says hospital is now being "rebuilt"
9.24am: One of the patients who was transported in a stretcher by ambulance is still in the ICU.
A family spokesperson says, "On Saturday 8th November there was a family crisis that involved a doctor. His wife went home to get her medication but when she returned to find that he was now dead, she called the police. When she arrived they gave her a bag full of medical paperwork but when she went to check, she found the doctor's bag full of stuff he had bought to put in it. He had a bag of drugs he wanted taken from his body, which was very much out of character. He also said 'I'm not even going to tell you where I am now' “ which is absolutely untrue, he is at home but he told me it was an escape. They say his wife and children were the first to see him."
A colleague, Peter McAllister, confirmed the story in a Twitter exchange.

And while it's true that there are currently no significant job cuts planned, the fact that the President has not been pushing for a long-term reduction in overtime isn't helping. According to Labor Department data, an overtime rule known as Section 3320 was not enacted until March of this year. This means it took more than a year for the President to create that rule, and many of his own aides never even knew it existed.
The administration has also been pushing to slash overtime regulations, which would have made these job cuts easier.
And what about the growing numbers of employees who are losing their jobs because of "a new economic reality"?
But the answer? Labor Secretary Thomas Perez is working to help all Americans. I have written about some of his work at the Bureau of Labor Statistics, but he also serves as the Secretary of Labor in Obama's Department of Labor. Perez has long stood up for fair overtime rules and protections for working Americans.
So there's clearly hope here. But there is still something going on.
