Samid hadid and michael photios discuss the weeks, months, or a whole year of their life together. Their experiences were so different that they had more in common than the people who knew them most.
The podcast's theme was what keeps you coming back.
Michael: My father died and I was young. My mother was divorced and I was just finding out it's still illegal to divorce your kids. One day my wife and I came up with that idea to start this podcast to talk about what keeps you coming back.
Michael's father died when Michael was three or four years old. I was always the only one who ever knew he was gone. It's always with me when someone dies. Even when he's alive it still hits me. A lot of people try to put things in a bad light, but you know when you actually see his funeral, you're surprised and still touched by the people in there.
A few days later I was home alone and I found his casket. In the living room, I had this piece of paper with the name on it and that was it. What I've got here now are my parents' two dogs, Mike and Michael. I just really wanted to let people know how lucky I was, and now it's my responsibility to not let this happen again.
You're not the only one who has the same experience.
Michael: It kind of started when my friend Jason posted a picture of me getting my wedding ring and asking me who he could name. I immediately thought it was my sister. I know that wasn't true. But to have someone tell me it wasn't was very comforting because it gave me comfort.
You get to meet more people these days because people who didn't meet you growing up are more likely to be the kind of people who are able to open up and connect with you. It's the people who say, "My brother, my sister, they didn't know me and I don't want that to happen to you," they just start to talk about you in a much more direct way.
It can be hard to find people when you know they won't let you have a face-to-face conversation with them.
Michael: I think part of that is because I don't have a lot of friends and I just want to be able to meet people I actually know. I was really lucky with that friend in college who didn't like me, but he kind of did anyway, and that was a lot of trust he showed me. He became my first friend.
I had never spoken to anyone about what happened to me but I learned a lot from that friend because when I was in a lot of the same places, like prison, my friend said he kne

Public warned of rubbish collection changes, which are likely to include an increase in cleaning of rubbish on buses and trains, as a response to the new requirements.
The Public Service is planning to increase trash collection from the main lines to the city's buses and trains, where it does not have to get an order to do so, according to a memo sent to staff last week.
It said it will also be opening a new "Smart Recycling" station to take up to 30 per cent of garbage dropped off from street corners and parks, including from buses, by September next year, and will improve collection of the garbage collected in recycling bins at its recycling centres.
The Public Service also plans to introduce new waste collection methods "to allow for improved efficiency and efficiency," such as a garbage collection system and "smart recycling" bins, said the memo.
"We must also consider the potential impact to our core services of these increased obligations," wrote the department in response to a request for staff feedback, which was posted on the department's website.
In a further response, written by the department's Director-General Chris Wark, that was posted on the department's website today, he said the department was pleased that the public has made it known that it wants the changes to go ahead.
"In particular we welcome the public input and observations of its residents which highlight the need for these changes to go ahead," he wrote.
"We have seen comments from a variety of quarters regarding issues such as the potential risks of any changes to the collection system and whether it will provide the same level of services as currently delivered.
"It is clear however from some responses that even those that supported the changes are worried about the implications for their services and the impact on services provided and service levels.
"The feedback received and is shared by many staff is based on concerns about this issue that the public has expressed and can provide feedback about as a matter of course. I am happy that you all feel you have received a valuable resource to reflect on this important issue."
Last December, councillors at a council meeting voted against moving forward with an "all of the above" bus fleet waste collection scheme, including raising the trash limits for garbage collected in street corners.
